Job Description Job Description Key Responsibilities: - Advise on terminations for convenience or default of contracts. Individuals must have demonstrated abilities to assimilate and apply knowledge on all types of award mechanisms quickly and efficiently. - Prepare all required documentation for award terminations, including termination notices, determinations and findings, negotiation memoranda, and settlement agreements. - Interpret and apply applicable sections of the FAR and USAID supplemental regulations and policies. - Process actions in USAID’s contracts and financial management system. - Coordinate with the Office of General Counsel, technical teams, and implementing partners to manage the termination process. - Assess financial, contractual, and programmatic implications of terminations and recommend risk mitigation strategies. - Ensure post-termination actions, including audits, final payments, and closeouts, are completed in compliance with USAID policy. - Develop guidance, templates, and training materials to strengthen USAID’s institutional approach to award terminations. Work on-site 3 days per week Qualifications - At least 5 years’ of experience in US government contract management with at least 1 year of experience terminating contracts and negotiating termination settlements. - Bachelor’s degree in Business. - FAC-C Professional or CFCM. - Capability to quickly assimilate new information and become proficient in topics for which they may not have knowledge, e.g. Government to Government, Title II, Interagency Awards, and Public International Organizations.
