Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites
applications for an Associate Director of Graduate Medical
Education to join our Medical Education team. This is a full-time
opportunity based out of our regional office in Washington, DC ,
with a hybrid work model . The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical
Group is comprised of more than 1,700 Permanente physicians and
nearly 300 staff professionals who come together to make a positive
impact on the health and lives of more than 800,000 members across
Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. Reporting to the
Associate Medical Director for Medical Education and the Director
of Medical Education , The Associate Director of Graduate Medical
Education is responsible for overseeing and advancing graduate
medical education across MAPMG, including Kaiser Permanente’s own
accredited residency programs, as well as visiting resident and
fellow rotations from affiliated institutions within the Kaiser
Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States (KPMAS) region. The Associate
Director partners with key stakeholders to provide day-to-day
oversight of GME activities, including ensuring the ongoing
accreditation and success of KPMAS programs accredited by the
Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The
Associate Director oversees institutional accreditation activities,
including the Annual Institutional Review, Accreditation Data
System maintenance, citation tracking, and development of action
plans for program improvement. In partnership with program
leadership, this role monitors corrective actions, supports
underperforming programs, and prepares leadership updates related
to graduate medical education initiatives. You can expect to:
Oversee and support ACGME accredited residency and fellowship
programs, ensuring ongoing compliance with institutional and
program requirements Partner closely with the Designated
Institutional Official (DIO), Director of Medical Education,
program leadership, and affiliated institutions to advance GME
strategy and operations Lead institutional accreditation efforts,
including ACGME Accreditation Data System (ADS) updates, Annual
Institutional Review submissions, and action plans for program
improvement Manage and coordinate Graduate Medical Education
Committee (GMEC) meetings, materials, documentation, and compliance
requirements Develop and maintain GME policies, procedures,
educational resources, and faculty development tools to support
teaching faculty and preceptors Oversee visiting resident and
fellow rotations with the Medical Education Program Coordinator,
including onboarding, scheduling, learner experience evaluation,
and continuous improvement Support program growth and innovation,
including the development of new residency programs, rotations, and
institutional partnerships Collaborate with finance and operational
partners to develop, monitor, and manage residency program budgets
Serve as a thought partner and advisor to MAPMG and KPMAS
leadership on medical education strategy, accreditation, and
workforce development What is required: Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree or higher in education, organizational development,
or a related field preferred 8–10 years of experience in medical
education or a related field Minimum of 5 years of experience
managing an ACGME-accredited residency program with demonstrated
knowledge of current ACGME standards Experience managing complex
programs within a healthcare or academic medical environment Strong
communication, facilitation, and leadership skills Demonstrated
ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with
senior leadership Ability to commute to Washington, DC , on a
hybrid/as-needed basis Must currently live in or be willing to
relocate to the Washington, DC metropolitan area Required

this position ranges from $ 115,520 to $ $128,500 depending on
factors such as skills, qualifications, education, experience, and
