Matrix's portfolio includes an industrial coatings division (MCT) to extend its service and product offerings with a focus on protective and anti-corrosive coatings.Matrix's state of the artfacility in Henderson, WA, is a world-class manufacturing plant that services its clientele through offices and agents in key locations around the world.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to spearhead customer acquisition and growth for a new range of product offerings and solutions targeted at the mining industry. You will play a key role in to identifying customers trends and requirements, informing our mining industry R&D activities, securing new business opportunities, leading negotiations, maintaining market and competitor awareness, and managing customer relationships.With a core focus on new customer acquisition, key activities of the role include:

• Develop and implement strategies for new business opportunities, including market maps and business development plans.
• Uncover and understand commercial business requirements and trends to inform future solutions and product development.
• Approach, negotiate, and close mining solutions orders to achieve annually agreed targets.
• Track market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to refine business strategies and inform R&D efforts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, clients, and internal teams.
• Ensure Matrix brand is well known and understood in the market as a leading products and solutions provider.
• Identify opportunities to develop new polymer and composite-based products for the mining industry.
• Keep up to date with mining technology and industry innovations, developments, challenges and requirements.

  • Corporate Discounted Health InsuranceDesired Skills and ExperienceThe successful candidate will demonstrate solid technical aptitude, be a commercially driven problem solver and have exceptional relationship building and engagement skills. To be considered for this role you will have;
    • Extensive experience in a mining centric business development position/s with demonstrated success in new customer acquisition and achievement of sales targets.
    • An extensive and current network of relevant customers and industry contacts combined with deep market insights.
    • Mechanical Engineering and/or Process Engineering skills or qualifications.
    • Ability to successfully engage with engineers, trades and senior management to develop strong and mutually beneficial relationships.
    • Superior presentation, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
