Job Description
X-energy, LLC is seeking experienced professionals to join our team in the role of Director, Digital Engineering. This role is responsible for leading the development and implementation of X-energy's digital engineering ecosystem, overseeing the configuration, integration, and deployment of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) solutions that enable efficient product development and successful transition to production. This role will manage a matrix team focused on optimizing existing digital engineering tools (including Teamcenter PLM, NX, and Capella/System Modeling Workbench), implementing new capabilities, and driving adoption through training and change management, with particular emphasis on transitioning engineering teams from paper-based processes to a fully digital environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic development and execution of X-energy's digital engineering roadmap, including configuration management of existing modules and planned deployment of new capabilities.
  • Coordinate the integration of new functions and modules and optimize the configuration of existing modules in order to address business needs, improve efficiency, and minimize disruptions to business operations.
  • Partner with the IT organization to coordinate successful deployments, oversee software upgrades, and manage infrastructure migrations to ensure minimal disruption to business operations while maximizing new capabilities.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Supply Chain leadership to align digital solutions with business needs and influence adoption across the organization.
  • Align with and influence X-energy's AI strategy to safely implement the next generation of automation and analytical capabilities within our digital engineering ecosystem.
  • Manage a matrix team of up to fifteen professionals executing simultaneous projects and initiatives across the digital engineering ecosystem.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training strategies to transition engineering teams from paper-based processes to advanced digital engineering methods.
  • Oversee the migration of legacy data from other systems into the digital engineering ecosystem.
  • Partner with Corporate IT and PLM Leadership to develop cohesive implementation strategies.
  • Apply Lean/Agile methodologies to improve deployment speed and quality.
  • Ensure all digital engineering systems and processes align with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university.
    • Typically, fifteen years of professional experience in engineering, with at least five years focused on digital engineering transformation (graduate degrees may count toward experience).
    • Demonstrated experience leading matrix teams of technical professionals across enterprise initiatives.
    • Experience implementing and configuring PLM systems and MBSE solutions.
    • Proven track record transitioning engineering teams from traditional to digital processes, including development of training programs.
    • Experience managing complex system migrations and upgrades in enterprise environments.
    • Knowledge of engineering processes and product development methodologies in regulated industries.
    • Experience with quality management systems (such as ISO 9001/AS9100 or NQA-1).
    • Proficiency with software integration across different data models and architectures.
    • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

      Location: 530 Gaither Road, Rockville, MD

      Work Site Expectations: 4-5 days in office

      Travel Expectations: 10%
      Hours: Standard office hours are 8:00am ET to 5:00pm ET, Monday -Friday

      Compensation

      As required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.). Individual candidates who meet the job requirements for the posted position will be offered a salary within this range based on their respective levels of education/training, experience, and other qualifications unique to them. Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions. Please note that compensation ranges listed for US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits or other incentives.

      A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is:
      $178,380- $247,750
