Job Description:
The University of Virginia Health System (UVA Health) is seeking
a fellowship-trained Body Imaging Radiologist to join our Community
Division. This role offers the opportunity to practice the full
scope of body imaging in a collegial, supportive environment
serving Prince William Hospital, Haymarket Medical Center, Culpeper
Hospital, Culpeper Outpatient Imaging Center and Gainesville
Outpatient Imaging Center. The position combines the advantages of
community-based practice with the resources and academic
connections of a leading university health system. The successful
candidate will devote approximately 90–95% effort to clinical
service and 5–10% to administrative and service activities, with
flexibility to adapt as the division evolves. Clinical
Responsibilities Interpret a comprehensive range of Body Imaging
studies across all major modalities (plain film, CT, MRI,
ultrasound, fluoroscopic GI/GU exams, and non-vascular image-guided
procedures). Refine, expand, and improve clinical services in body
imaging and related image-guided procedures. Participate in
multidisciplinary tumor boards and provide consultative expertise
for referring physicians and technical staff. Collaborate with
referring providers to ensure appropriate, high-value use of
imaging studies and procedures. Share in the division’s clinical
schedule and call responsibilities, with occasional coverage at the
Culpeper Outpatient Imaging Center. Service & Administrative
Responsibilities Contribute to quality improvement initiatives,
workflow optimization, and patient care process enhancements.
Participate in peer review, clinical protocol development, and
recruitment/marketing initiatives. Work collaboratively with
technologists, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure
high-quality imaging protocols and efficient workflow. Promote a
culture of collegiality, inclusivity, and respect within the
Division and across UVA Health. Support the professional reputation
of UVA Radiology in the communities we serve. Qualifications M.D.
or D.O. degree; board certified/eligible in Diagnostic Radiology.
Fellowship training in Body Imaging. Eligibility for medical
licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Strong clinical skills,
