Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Ortho RN in Towson, Maryland,
21204! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty:
Orthopedics Duration: 10 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours
(07:00 - 19:30) Experience: 2 years experience required. Must have
general surgery/orthopedics experience with strong skills. Will
accept first-time travelers with a minimum of 1 year of healthcare
experience and strong skills. License: RN state license
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH; CPI preferred Must-Have: Previous
charge experience preferred. Experience with Epic charting system
preferred. Description: Seeking an Orthopedic/MS/Tele RN for day
shifts. The contract length is 10 weeks. The nurse will work 3 days
of 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Block scheduling cannot
be accommodated, and any special scheduling requests should be
submitted with the time-off request at the time of application.
Patient ratio will typically be 1:5. The patient age range includes
adults, geriatrics, and adolescents with a tanner score greater
than 4. Surgeries include complex total joints, cervical and lumbar
spine fusions, and various other procedures. The unit is capable of
EKGs and telemetry monitoring; the RN should know rhythm basics.
Equipment and procedures include IV, PCA, PCEA, capnography, and
wound vac management. Communication within the unit will use secure
text messaging and other tools. Every other weekend and holidays
will be required as scheduled. Floating within the specialty and
lower acuity is required as needed. The nurse must be comfortable
floating without restrictions as long as it is within their
experience scope. Candidates must be away for at least 6 months
from the system if they are returning travelers. All candidates
must provide two satisfactory professional references from recent
employers, including a supervisor/manager and a charge RN.
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility.
Candidates must have an active state or compact RN license at the
