Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Position Summary Under the
direction of a Speech and Language Lead, the Speech and Language
Pathology Assistant shall provide services to patients with speech
and language disorders. The Speech and Language Pathology Assistant
shall work under the direction of the Lead Speech Pathologist and
with collaboration of PSL clinical staff. Full-time Speech and
Language Pathology Assistants are to provide a minimum of 30 client
direct billable hours per week and 10 administrative hours per week
for a total of 40 hours per week. Roles and Responsibilities
Stewardship • Provide individual and group treatment to patients in
a clinical/teletherapy setting. • Collaborate with caregivers and
therapists to provide a holistic plan of care. • Maintain client
confidentiality, understand, and adhere to HIPAA (Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability) regulatory laws, rules,
regulations, and policies. • Attend weekly group and individual
meetings with SPL team. • Work ethically and with integrity while
following the ASHA Ethical Code. • Adhere to Pediatric Speech Lab
policies, processes, procedures, and best practices. Customer
Experience • Communicate progress and treatment plans effectively
with families and all staff involved in the progress of the
patient. • Communicate effectively with managers and leaders, and
external customers. Technical Performance and Precision •
Consistently implement standardized tests for diagnosis of
communication disorders with reliability (under SLPs direction) and
prepare program goals and milestones for patients. • Complete
discharge reports, progress reports, and screeners. • Develop
therapy and treatment plans for speech disorders. • Maintain
treatment plans and progress reports. • Participate in ongoing
training, evaluations, and meetings, as required. • Assist with
job-related administrative tasks, as necessary. • Collect and
maintain accurate data and clinical notes utilizing data collection
software. • Perform other duties as assigned. Learning and
Professional Growth • Stay abreast of new and changing therapies
within the Speech and Language Therapy industry. • Make a continual
effort to advance competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities
through continuing education, training, advanced degrees,
certifications, reading, conducting research, and related

Indicators (KPIs) • Clinical Treatment: Provide individual and
group treatment to at least 90% of scheduled patients weekly,
measured through patient attendance records, to ensure high patient
engagement and satisfaction. • Collaboration: Collaborate with
caregivers and therapists for 100% of patient cases, documented in
patient records and reviewed monthly, to enhance treatment
effectiveness through interdisciplinary care. • Compliance:
Maintain 100% adherence to HIPAA regulations and ASHA Ethical Code,
measured through quarterly audits of clinical documentation, to
ensure legal compliance and uphold professional integrity. •
Meetings and Communication: Attend 100% of weekly group and
individual meetings with the SPL team, tracked through attendance
records, to foster team collaboration and continuous professional
development. • Standardized Testing and Program Goals: Consistently
implement standardized tests for diagnosing communication disorders
with 95% reliability, reviewed quarterly, to ensure accurate
diagnoses and effective program goals. • Treatment Planning: To
provide personalized and effective patient care, develop, maintain
comprehensive treatment plans, and progress reports for 95% of
patients, reviewed monthly for completeness and accuracy. •
Training and Professional Development: Participate in ongoing
training and complete at least two continuing education courses
annually, tracked through certifications and course completions, to
stay current with industry advancements and improve clinical
skills. • Documentation: Collect and maintain accurate data and
clinical notes for 100% of patients, updated within 24 hours of
each session, monitored weekly, to ensure precise and timely
patient records. • Innovation and Learning: To enhance clinical
program efficiency and effectiveness, implement at least one new
therapy technique or best practice annually, tracked through
implementation and outcome reviews. • Administrative Tasks:
Complete all assigned administrative tasks within designated
timeframes, tracked monthly, to support the smooth operation of the
clinic. Qualifications Education and Experience • Minimum of
bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology. • Certificate of Clinical
Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. •
Licensed to practice in the state of Maryland. • Experience working
in a clinical setting and telehealth setting preferred. Skills and

communication skills. • Ability to develop and maintain

Technology and Equipment • Must have proficient knowledge of
Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
Outlook. • Must have knowledge of proper data collection
techniques. • Must learn how to properly submit various company and
regulatory forms and documents such as requisitions and clinical
data updates. • Ability to operate office equipment: fax, copier,
scanner, phone, and computer. • Ability to use the internet for
research, communications, and training. Supervise Others • This
position does not supervise others. Willingness to Travel • This
position may require travel. Language Skills • Excellent verbal and
written communication skills. • Ability to read, analyze, and
interpret documents such as policies, procedure manuals, research
information, review articles, and various ABA periodicals. •
Ability to speak effectively and present information to all levels
of internal and external customers. • Ability to author routine
reports and correspondence. • Ability to resolve and respond to
common inquiries or complaints from internal and external
customers. Physical Demands • Ability to lift a minimum of 40
pounds and maintain a variety of positions to include kneeling,
squatting, crawling, sitting, walking, or standing for extended
periods of time. • Must have the manual dexterity to perform
specific computer and electronic functions for effective data
collection and communication. • Must have visual acuity to read and
comprehend written communication through electronic devices and on
paper. • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended
periods of time. • Must be comfortable working with children who
may exhibit extreme behaviors. Work Environment • Must be
comfortable working with and around children who may be screaming,
crying, yelling, or laughing. • Must show empathy and endure
children showing aggressions such as hitting, spitting, kicking,
and scratching. • Able to work in a fast-paced environment – and
